WHAT IS W.I.L.L.?
Wellness in Law & Life is composed of a growing group of passionate students dedicated to ensuring law school is an environment where students are not only provided with the skills and education necessary to succeed in their careers, but to thrive while doing so.
W.I.L.L. is committed to ushering in a new wave of attorneys, dedicated not only to the pursuit of law, but to remembering to find time for all the fervors and intricacies of life that, at times, can be obscured by ambition– in the strength of life-long bonds, the support of communities built, and in the moments savored from new memories created.
While simultaneously acknowledging the demands of our academics, our careers, and our futures, putting down a casebook and picking up a new hobby can be a life-line to our roots.
Hanging on dearly to that which brings us joy, W.I.L.L brings law students together across backgrounds, universities, and prospective careers.
OUR PRINCIPLES AND VALUES
-
To provide students with a safe and accepting space to define/discover what “happiness” and “wellness” means for them, as both current law students and future practicing attorneys
-
To provide an inclusive, easily accessible, and low pressure environment to facilitate developing new and deeper connections between peers
-
To foster a stronger sense of community, collaboration, and support at WashU Law amongst the student body
-
To aid students in implementing methods that encourage wellness, mindfulness, and self-care, as well as develop ways to continue to seek out/maintain happiness and a good work-life balance post-grad.
-
To ensure a strong focus is placed on uplifting under-represented groups, acknowledging the cultural/socioeconomic differences on how happiness/ wellness may be defined, and taking strides to promote Wellness in Law & Life through DEI measures
